Low quality, good looking chair. Would not pay full price.
It’s a good looking chair, and is a good fit for the room I needed it for.
I got it at 60% off - and at that price it feels about right.
It was delivered by a third party, and not brought in and set up like typical furniture stores. The chair required assembly - which you think would be simple enough - except the hardware provided was utter garbage. After stripping the tip of one of the bolts - I realised I was going to have to use my tap and die set to clean up the bolts before using - as they would not insert (I tried another bolt I had at home, which worked fine). Wasn’t just a simple manufacturing error - as all of the bolts had varying degrees of the same issue.
The arm rests are made of low quality rubber wood - and not even single pieces, despite only being small. The armrests each have multiple finger joint lines - making them look very cheap. The way they bolt on also causes a small amount of creaking periodically.
The frame itself is ok, although I wish it had a bit less flex in it.
The cushions are fine, but it’s not particularly conforming, and after only having spent a few hours in the chair - it is already starting to hold a noticeable groove, which is not a great sign.
All in all, I’m happy with my purchase - but I can forsee having to replace the seat and back pads entirely with a custom solution within a few years, and I might switch out the arm rest timber with some actual single piece hardwood alternatives.
Would definitely not pay full price, and…
